DC power technician training
Prepare to support the power behind critical communications.
AIIT introduces the safety, electrical, equipment, grounding, testing, and documentation foundations connected to DC power work in telecom and digital infrastructure.
Reliable power infrastructure
A specialized bridge between telecom and critical facilities.
Safety + power + disciplined proceduresDC power systems help keep telecommunications equipment, wireless sites, central offices, and other always-on facilities operating. Technicians work carefully around rectifiers, batteries, distribution equipment, power cabling, grounding systems, alarms, and active infrastructure.
AIIT’s seven-week foundation includes basic electricity, DC power concepts, ESD control, grounding and bonding, equipment identification, testing awareness, documentation, and controlled work procedures. Advanced or live electrical work requires additional training, authorization, and any applicable licensing.
Skills students develop
Foundations for safe, precise infrastructure work.
Students build awareness and practical habits through demonstrations, guided tasks, and graded exercises.
Potential career direction
DC Power Installation Technician
Work may include supporting rectifiers, battery strings, DC distribution equipment, power cabling, grounding, testing, audits, preventive maintenance, and carefully controlled installations. This employer-facing pathway often aligns with SOC 49-2022 depending on actual duties.
Important distinction
Foundational preparation—not electrical licensure.
- Employer onboarding is still required
- Live work requires authorization
- Licensing rules vary by jurisdiction
- Advanced training builds specialization
